In other words, you can develop <em>bite issues<\/em>, such as an overbite or an underbite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bite issues can be uncomfortable and cause all kinds of complications, but there\u2019s good news: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sachsefamilydentistry.com\/invisalign.html\">Invisalign clear aligners<\/a> can help!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Types of \u201cBite Issues\u201d<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>There are many different types of \u201cbite issues,\u201d and each is defined based on the jaw\u2019s specific misalignment. For example:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>An <strong>overbite <\/strong>means your upper teeth are positioned too far over your lower teeth.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Underbites <\/strong>are the opposite \u2013 your lower teeth extend past your upper teeth.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you have a <strong>crossbite, <\/strong><em>some <\/em>of your bottom teeth are in front of <em>some <\/em>of your top teeth. Your jaw may rest too far to the left or too far to the right in order to compensate.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Open bites<\/strong>, meanwhile, are when your top and bottom teeth don\u2019t touch at all.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Similar to crooked teeth, a \u201ccrooked jaw\u201d can be repositioned by applying strategic amounts of pressure \u2013 which is exactly what orthodontics are designed to do!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Power of Invisalign (and Modern Advancements)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To be fair, Invisalign wasn\u2019t always able to fix bite issues. The clear aligners started out as a cosmetic solution. However, in 2009, tooth-colored attachments and bite ramps were introduced as part of Invisalign\u2019s new SmartForce features. By cementing these additions to the plastic trays, Invisalign providers could gently force the jawbone to move. Thanks to continuing advancements, Invisalign can now correct the vast majority of bite misalignments!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">An Invisalign Treatment vs. Traditional Braces<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re interested in fixing an overbite, underbite, crossbite, or open bite, it\u2019s definitely worth considering an Invisalign treatment. While traditional braces can correct severe bite issues more effectively than Invisalign, these famous clear aligners are suitable for the vast majority of patients and are generally considered to be more comfortable, more convenient, and on average, faster.
